What is FourFive?

Q. How should I record my journeys?
A. This is entirely up to you but we recommend you record every trip where you are the driver, including your driving lessons and any other practice session you do with family or friends. That way you will see your true progress and will be able to unlock new and helpful content.

Q. Where is the best position for me to have my phone when I’m recording journeys? 
A. To get the best results your phone needs to be able to get a good GPS signal by being able to see the sky. It also needs to be steady. If you have a phone holder you should use that but after you’ve started your journey on the app switch the screen off so it’s not a distraction while you drive.


Q. FourFive has mis-calculated my journey. What should I do? 
A. Rarely, incorrect data can cause FourFive to mis-record your route. You can delete this session and then record a new one the next time you drive. To delete it, go to the History tile, select the journey you want to delete, then select ‘Summary’ and click ‘Delete this session’.

Q. The journey my phone has recorded looks wrong or a bit strange.
A. Sometimes the GPS signal is poor or it can be interrupted by trees and tall buildings, meaning that your journey can look strange. If the session is wrong you can delete it. To do this, go to Data errors -Phone location – Delete journey

Q. FourFive has incorrectly identified a road type from my journey, what do I do? 
A. FourFive assumes this information from the way you have driven and it is just an indication to give you a better understanding of how your learner journey is progressing.

Q How do I delete a session I recorded in error?
A. Go to the History tile, select the journey you want to delete, select ‘Summary’ and click ‘Delete this session’

Q. Are the DVSA theory tests questions the real ones the DVSA use?
A . No - these questions have been provided under license by the DVSA but they are example questions, not the actual questions that the DVSA use. The DVSA prepared these test questions to be the closest thing to the real theory test questions so they are the best place to practice.

Q.  Can I share my practice sessions with my driving instructor?
A. At the moment, you can’t share your sessions with your instructor but we are adding this ability to the app soon.  You can show them on your own phone using your FourFive app in the meantime.

Q. Why am I just getting the flashing load lights?
A. Some content on FourFive needs to be downloaded requiring a mobile or broadband connection. Please check your connection and try again.

Q. How often do you post new content?
A. New content will be released on a regular basis including; news, updates from the DVSA, new tips and masterclasses.
 

Q. Why do I need to enter my test date?
A. By entering your test date FourFive will unlock content that helps guide you to successfully pass your test and prepare for life as a qualified driver. We can also help you with low cost, no curfew insurance when you pass your test.
 
Q. Who else sees my data?
A. Access to your data is covered by our privacy policy. Click here for details

Q. I’m getting a new phone but don’t want to lose my FourFive progress – can I transfer it to my new phone?
A. Don’t worry, you can keep your progress.  Simply download FourFive on your new phone and log in using the same email and password. The summaries of all your practice sessions, practice quizzes and trophies will automatically update.
 
Q. You say it is a free app but some content says it is ‘locked’ - how do I unlock it?
A. All content is free but some content is only made available when you have achieved certain milestones within FourFive. Just keep using FourFive during every lesson and practice drive and you will soon find that this extra content becomes available.

Q. I’ve forgotten my password, what do I do?

A. Just select ‘Forgotten Password’ and enter your email address. A new authorisation code will be sent to you. Enter this and then reset your password.

Q. I’ve been invited to use FourFive and entered my email but it now tells me I’m not eligible? 
A. You must use the same email account that the invitation was sent to to be able to register.

Q. Is FourFive a tracker?  
A. No, it will only record your journeys when you ask it to. FourFive is all about helping you develop and progress as a driver allowing you to record your practice trips and get helpful feedback and tips. 

Q. Why do I have to allow FourFive to track my motion and fitness?
 
A. FourFive only uses this to help end the session just in case you forget. It is an important part of the app and it won’t work if this is disabled.

Q. It still says my Tax/MOT is due but I just renewed it?
A. This information is given to us by the DVSA. Try swiping down to refresh the app and if this doesn’t work try again in 24 hours.
 
Q. How do I give feedback or offer suggestions for new features I’d like to see?
A. We’d love to hear from you! Just go to the feedback page at www.fourfiveapp.com/feedback

Q. Why do you want my mobile number?
A. If you’ve given us your number and your test is due we can get our insurance partners to give you a personalised quotation for motor insurance. It’s quick and easy and they have competitive policies for new drivers with no curfews.

Q. What do I do if I need more help?

A. Firstly, make sure you have read through the FAQS here as it should cover any issues that you could have with the app. If you still can’t find what you need, please email fourfive@itelematix.com. 
 

Insurance related questions

Q. Can I use my FourFive app to help me get insurance when I pass my test?
A. You can request a callback from our insurance partners anytime using the App – simply go to the homepage  of the App and Click ‘Get Learner and Young Driver Insurance’. Our partners insure thousands of young and learner drivers and offer no curfew policies once you have passed your test, as well as short period policies when you are learning to drive so you never pay more than you need to.

 
Q. Will you tell my insurer if I do something wrong?
A. No, the FourFive App is for your personal usage and feedback.
 
Q. Will FourFive affect my insurance?
A. No, the FourFive App is designed to help you pass your test and give you feedback on your driving. Our insurance partners can offer your insurance policies but they are not linked to your FourFive progress. Of course, improving your driving using the App will help you on the road in the long term!

Q. I didn’t receive my verification code
A. The code will take a couple of minutes and is sent to the same email address as you used to register. Make sure you check your junk or spam folder too.
